About Us
We are a South London-based mother and daughter team with roots in Ghana, West Africa.
We have a passion for jewellery and are inspired by our traditional Ghanaian glass beads. Our aim is to raise the profile of these beads in a positive way and show how beautiful, striking and versatile they can be.
Our designs put a contemporary spin on African bead jewellery. We make statement pieces for everyday wear and special occasions. We are excited for you to explore our collections and grow with us as a brand.
Maya and Jo
"no two beads are the same and that's exactly what we love about them!"
Individuality
Here at mmi3nsa, we source beads directly from talented craftspeople in Ghana. These craftspeople hand make the beads from recycled glass in all different shapes, sizes, colours and patterns. This produces an endless selection of bright, bold, and intricate beads.
The fact that they are handcrafted gives them a real organic feel. Do not expect uniform machine mass produce - each bead is unique and has it's own character!
Craftsmanship
We are committed to celebrating and sustaining the creativity and passion of our partners in Ghana.
The beads are expertly handcrafted in Ghana by small scale producers. The final jewellery piece is hand-assembled in London by the mother and daughter team.
mmi3nsa promises that every pair of earrings is unique, owing to the fact that the beads are handmade. Freeform idiosyncrasies are part of the charm.
Nomoda
Our wonderful partner Nomoda is seen here working in his factory in Ghana. He makes thousands of beads a year and employs many local artisans in his factory, supplying beads all over the world.
